Inside Our Black Angus Breeding Program

Purpose-Built Black Angus Seedstock

At Pine Coulee, we are strong believers in the power of the cow. Our cows are pastured in steep, rough country and aren’t pampered—our donors are run on the same program as our commercial embryo recipient cows, so the ones that rise to the top do so organically. These proven cow families are the base of our program—cow families whose progeny will go the distance, and stamp herds with phenotypical and production excellence.

Prioritizing Maternal Traits That Pay

We are rigid in our culling practices, with utmost attention paid to:

  • Fertility
  • Feet and legs
  • Stay-ability
  • Efficiency
  • Disposition
  • Udder quality
  • Overall structural soundness

See the Program in Action

Curious what our breeding philosophy looks like in the pasture—or on sale day? Take a look at the bulls and females that carry our brand. From our hardworking herd sires to donor cows with real-world production, you’ll see the results of generations of careful selection.

  • Meet the bulls on our Herd Sires page
  • Explore the cow families behind them on our Donors page

We invite you to come visit the ranches and the cattle at any time, and to attend our annual Pine Coulee Bulls LLC sale held the 2nd Monday in March, and our Ladies of the Beartooths female sale in mid-October.
